my hope is found.

by - 9:55 PM

This song. Time and time again, when I've been hurting. When I've been lost. When I'm sad. I turn it on, and it helps heal my heart. It's a balm to the wounded soul. This is the song. This is my anthem.

In Christ alone, my hope is found

He is my light, my strength, my song

This cornerstone, this solid ground

Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace

When fears are stilled, when strivings cease

My comforter, my all-in-all

Here in the love of Christ I stand

There in the ground His body lay

Light of the world by darkness slain

Then bursting forth in glorious day

Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory

Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine

Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me

From life’s first cry to final breath

Jesus commands my destiny

No power of hell, no scheme of man

Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home

Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand

It's good to know that Jesus never fails.

    1. Indeed I have! And you are correct, I do like it! I was practically raised with that song; I remember singing it and listening to it with my mom many times. I haven't heard it in a while but I still do love it. It's beautiful.

  4. Oh! Sky! I have to agree that this song has helped me so many times.

I think it was last month that I was really struggling with some internal stuff.
I went out to the barn to feed my animal and started singing hymns. This one came to mind and as I sang it I just overflowed with joy and tears. It is so powerful.

    1. Ellyn! Thank you for commenting, it really did make my day.

I love that story. ♥ Thank you for being open and willing to share it with me! My favorite part is that it took place in a barn. It reminds me that God often speaks in the humblest and most vulnerable of places. That strikes me as quite symbolic.

I too struggle with lots of internal stuff, especially lately, and so this song has really helped speak to me and heal my heart. It's beautiful, and, like you said, so powerful. I love it.

  7. I feel the exact same way about this song. I'm constantly playing it over and over when I'm struggling through something. And it never seems to fail to get me teary-eyed. It's so beautiful with such powerful lyrics.

    "My Comforter, my All-in-all
." Jesus truly is.

  9. Aw, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Yes, I relate as well. Some Christian music really gets on my nerves, for reasons too numerous to list here. But I love songs like these, that cut past all the meaningless religion and extra "fluff", that state the simple truth of God's love, and truly reach the core of who I am and who God is. Those are the songs that really touch my heart.

It was my absolute pleasure; thank you for stopping by.
