What I Read: August
Thanks to my friend Ashley @ Ashley Aspires, I've had the idea to recap what I read each month. Much like Ashley, I used to be a voracious reader, but for whatever reason, I went through a years-long phase where I just didn't read. That changed this year when I challenged myself to read 10 books and discovered that there are so many books in the YA genre that I need to read. Now I'm addicted to reading, and I want to sum up all the books I read this month. So, without further ado, here's what I read in August!
A sweet and simple read. I was endeared to Jase's family (especially George), which was my favorite element of the book (but I'm still mad at Sam's mother). I'm looking forward to reading The Boy Most Likely To, the sequel/spin-off, in the coming months.

Reboot had a unique concept that I absolutely loved. 10/10.

This book was super clever with lovable characters. And it made me pretty much flat out sob. I had my heart broken by this book, but I'm okay with that.

Harvey was my favorite. That is all.

Hawkeye was not my first comic, but it was certainly one of the best comics. I love Clint Barton, goodbye.

Kamala Khan is flat out amazing. I love her so much. @Marvel, please give us more heroes like Kamala Khan.

A solid start, and I look forward to reading more. I adore America Chavez.

There is a seriously evil mother in this book. |

Percy, probably. |
I already gushed a ton over these books, so I'll keep this brief. These books were awesome. The end. Read them.

Like Percy Jackson, I'm horribly behind on Harry Potter. And like Percy Jackson, HP definitely deserves the hype. I loved it. The Harry Potter universe stole my heart.

This book focused on rape. It was such a painful book to read, but a necessary one. It's so, so important.

I love this! The "book in a gif" concept is so clever and hilarious. I look forward to reading future ones in order to get some recommendations.
ReplyDeleteAlso of the books I have read previously (HP, PJO, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel), I'm absolutely THRILLED that you enjoyed them. It makes my book lover's heart happy. :)
I'm glad you found a way back into reading--and that you're enjoying it!
Yay! I would like to give you all the awards for starting the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. The Heroes of Olympus is so good as well. I JUST ADORE THOSE TWO SERIES SO MUCH.
ReplyDeleteThese all look really good!
